Today an ENORMOUS box of kale was dropped off at our house courtesy of Debbie – a dear farmer & vendor at the organic market. (Make sure to check out Connaught Farm at the organic market on Saturdays at Bank & Heron, behind Canadian Tire) Boy, was I thrilled! And as you can see, I took advantage of the abundance and juiced an extra green one with 3 heads of kale which I nursed on the whole afternoon. Talk about feeling quenched! It was so nourishing that I hardly had an appetite for dinner.
So, with all that extra kale and 20 heads of cabbage for the sauerkraut I’ll be making with my mother, our new all-fridge fridge doesnt quite cut it. I am now storing produce outside in bins, hoping the squirrels will leave it alone and dreaming about a walk-in fridge.
