Patti & I had a rare evening out the other night. We first went over to Gino’s house to learn more about OceanGrown. Ocean Grown is a plant nutrient solution that contains all the minerals in a perfect balance. It is a concentrated liquid that provides essential nutrients from the deep ocean for growing healthy seeds and plants. I’m looking forward to using it for my personal use. Gino’s wheatgrass and sunflower greens not only looked stronger and darker in colour, they tasted amazing. After our briefing, we all sat around the kitchen table and toasted to the lifestyle with the sweetest grass I’ve tasted in a very long time.
Later on, we met up again at Live Cafe. The place was hopping – lots of people streaming in from the Health Expo – including Mister Wolfe himself – to eat dinner and shmooze in the raw. We mingled with the crowd while waiting for our order which, Gino & Nick insisted on being dessert first. Being good sports, Patti & I went along with their suggestion, sharing a black forest cake with a strawberry sauce. It was superb. We also tasted Nick & Gino’s ice cream – a banana/pecan and a blueberry – both ultra sweet & creamy.
It was difficult to decide what to eat for our main course (or was it dessert?) so we all followed Carolyne’s wise choice of a large salad bowl. Patti & I also shared some flafels on a mound of greens with a perfect meld of tahini mint sauce. The men chose the guac/salsa/corn chip platter which also looked good. In fact, everything looked delicious and oh so tempting. But for optional health and digestion, these heavier gourmet foods are best left for the occasional celebration. And a special occasion it was – the mood was positive, the energy live. I ended up leaving just before midnight which was surprising since I didnt want to go out in the first place!
