It’s been awhile since I’ve last blogged, but wow, there’s lots of excitement going on and I’m having so much fun in real life! To start with, my book – after 2 years of writing – has finally hit the market. Yay! It’s a real thrill to see it in local book stores including at Chapters and in my favorite store, The Singing Pebble Books on Main Street. Market Organics, Rainbow Natural Food, and Natural Food Pantry will also be carrying it shortly, and I’ll be doing signings around town the next while before heading out west on my book tour. My book also hit the American market, and it’s truly a pleasure to get feedback from readers across Canada and the U.S. Many thanks for all your encouragement and support. And, please keep those email coming in, I am so loving it. ![]()
For those who missed it, my first book review (w/a snazzy picture) appeared both locally in the Ottawa Citizen, and nation wide in the National Post. Not a bad review although the article was in the food section and described as a raw “cookbook “- something it definitely is not. The SimplyRaw Living Foods Detox Manual, published by Arsenal Pulp Press, is a tested & true detox program emphasizing fresh living plant foods. It has recipes at the back of the book but they’re mostly light fare such as green smoothies, blended raw soups, and living puddings. By the way, I am planning to finally finish writing that recipe book sometime next year, so that will definitely get me back in the kitchen – something my deprived hubby will be elated about no doubt! ![]()
Of course, we’re also thrilled about the launch & signing of my book this coming Thursday, April 23 (7-9pm) at the beautiful Nicholas Hoare Book Store, on 419 Sussex Drive. (7-9pm) We’ll be showing a fun slide show and serving tasty raw vegan appetizers, truffles and kombucha. We hope to see you there! Oh, and don’t forget about the potluck on Friday night!
